IMPHAL April 25: Kabui Literature Research Akedemi, Manipur and Twenty members welfare association, D.D.K., Imphal jointly organized a book release function today at Lamyanba Shanglen, Konung Lampak, Imphal.
A book titled Nunglei Nungshit( the Storm ) or ponjeng in Zaliangrong daelect written by Lanbon Kabui was formally released today by chief guest of the function T.Mangibabu Singh, MLA Thanga A/C, President Prof.N. Tombi Singh, President, Manipur Sahitya Parishad,Guest of Honours Poujairung Thaimei, State kala akademi awardee, and Th. Sumanta Singh,Pradhan, Lamjaotomba,Patsoi and book reviewer Dr.Saratchandra Longjamba at Lamyanba Sanglen,Imphal.
The book Nunglei Nungshit is a collection of small short poems written in Manipuri and has reflections of historical episodes and patriotism, brotherhood and communal harmony and also tries to show the problems and issues that we are facing today.T. Mangibabu Singh, MLA, Thanga constituency, the chief guest of today’s function praised the author for his contribution in Kubui literature and Manipur in general. He also acknowledged the author for his work on the book.
Poujairung Thamei, on his speech as the Guest of Honour of this book release function said that it would be impossible for anyone to break the very fabric of brotherhood among hill and the plain. He said we should encourage such work to spread the message of harmony and peaceful co-existence between the hill and plain.
Lanbon Kabui is one of the prominent figure in Kabui Literature. He had written several books in the past both in Kabui daelect as well as in Manipuri.
