Careers Guidance workshop begins

IMPHAL, April 17: With an objective to impart proper guidance to students and to maintain good careers, a two days’ workshop on “ Career Guidance” opened today at Manipur Forest Training School, Koirengei.The opening function was attended by Dr. S Gyaneshwar, Retd. Principal DM College of Science. The two days workshop was organized by the Development Agency for Social Justice & Rural Empowerment (DARE), Rikhumai Taphou, Senapati District under the direct sponsorship of the Development of Ministry of North Eastern Region (DONER).While inaugurating workshop this morning, Dr. S Gyaneshwar stressed the need of streamlining existing education policy of the state in order uplift the existing degrading nature of education sector. Organizing of such workshop in the state will enable to enhance roots of development in the field of education as the such workshop provide knowledge for both educators and students.In the meantime, K Chettry, Director Manipur Forest Training Centre, Koirengei in his presidential speech mentioned that responsibilities of the parents to guide their children specially students learning in class IX to XII are very high as per the career guidance in regards of the students are concerned.Letting their children in free reign will not serve the ultimate objectives of the parents in such period and hence the guardians need to be very sensitive and motivative, he added.The inaugural function of the two days was also attended by the former minister RK Theko and N Kakasana Singh.Students and teachers from various reputed schools established in both hills and valley district of the state took part in the workshop.
