CM assures completion of four main court rooms by June

IMPHAL, April 21: A state ministerial team led by the Chief Minister O Obobi Singh conducted a surprise inspection at the ongoing construction site of High court complex at Chingmeirong this morning.
The Chief Minister during the surprise inspection also interacted with the chief justice Guwahati High Court, justice Madan B Lokul and state advocate general Koteshwar Singh during which the Chief Minister mentioned that the coming up high court complex will have seven court rooms on completion however efforts have been made by the state government to complete four main court rooms by May or June first week this year.
During the official inspection tour, the Chief Minister was accompanied by dy speaker Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Lokeshwar Singh, works minister K Ranjit Singh and chief justice of Guwahati High Court Imphal Bench, T Nandakumar.
In the meantime, the justice T Nandakumar interacted with local media persons during the inspection tour where he made a brief statement on yesterday’s incident where a major ranked official of the Assam Rifles had allegedly misbehaved with him.
He said that the matter has been forwarded to the Brigadier Himalayan Head Quarter, IGAR (south) major general CA Krishnan so as to take necessary actions against the erring personnel. He also added that the major general himself had approached him yesterday after the incident with an apology, however he had not accepted the apology, he added.
Later, the team led by the Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh inspected the site for the construction of a State Judicial Academy at Khundrakpam Nepali Basti this morning.
