Distinction awards on National Rededication Day

IMPHAL, April 6: The Maharaja Narsingh memorial committee is going to give away award of distinction in various fields, on the occasion of the National Dedication Day celebration 2011.  
A press conference was held in this connection today at residence of Elangbam Sonamani Singh retired IAS, Moirangkhom Loklaobung. Speaking to the media persons Dr. RK. Bedajit Singh spoke person of Maharaja Narsingh memorial committee said as done in the past, the National Dedication Day Celebration will be observed in the historic Kangla Fort on Monday the April 11, 2011 to commemorate the 161st Death Anniversary of Maharaj Narsingh who took a vital role in redeeming Manipur from the disaster of Burmese occupation known in history as ‘Seven Years Devastation’ and also to pay homage to the patriots of the infamous incident and honor the men and women who have rendered dedicated service for the welfare of Manipur and glory of the nation.
On the said occasion the National Dedication Day Celebration 2011 Award for Distinction in the field of culture, Distinction in the field of Agriculture, Distinction in police service, Distinction in the field of Teaching, Distinguished Children Home, Team champions in sports (Taekwondo-2010 and Female topper in HSLC Exam 2010 shall be presented to outstanding individuals and organizations who are recommended by the Directorate of Arts and Culture Manipur, Central Agricultural university Imphal, Police Department Manipur, Directorate if Education(S) Manipur, Directorate of social welfare Manipur, All Manipur Teakwondo Association Imphal and Board or Secondary Education Manipur respectively.
The first award carries a cash of Rs 5000 donated by Late Atolchou Sana of Moirangkhom Imphal, the second award carries a cash of Rs 5000 donated by Late Nrajit Sana of Moirangkhom Imphal, the third award carries a cash of Rs 10000 donated by Late Manisana also from Moirangkhongkhom Imphal, the fourth award carries a cash of Rs 5000 donated by Late Konthoujam Gojendro Singh of Ningthoukhong Bazar, the fifth award carries a cash of Rs 10000 donated by Late Thokchom Birahari of Singjamei Thokchom Leikai, the sixth award carries a cash of Rs 5000 donated by Late R.K Imocha of Moirangkhom Imphal and  the 7th award carries a cash of Rs 5000 donated by Late Srimati Sanjembam Binodini Devi of Moirangkhom Imphal. Vbeside this, the esteemed Rupahal Theatre Imphal will also be honored along with a cash award of Rs.5000 donated by Late Shrimati Kama sana of Moirangkhom Imphal in in appreciation for staging the historical play Nara Singh every year on April 11 in public interest.
Dr. R.K Bedajit further mentioned to ensure a smooth and befitting observance of the sacred function and enable people from far and near to attend the memorial service and the committee seeks full co-operation of all sections of the public and the different organizations as well and sincerely that any sort of bandh, curfew or strike is not called in Manipur from any quarter on the 11th of April 2011and also ensure that nothing untoward happen in the holy kangla Fort on the said day.
