IMPHAL, April 20: Decrying against the hurling of hand grenade at the residence of medical superintendent of Chandel district hospital locality of the superintendent organized a sit-in protest at Lilong Chajing Awing Leikai this morning.
Sources said a hand-grenade was found this morning at the residence of MS of Chandel Dr. Kh Radheshyam Singh, 58, s/o Kh. Ibobi singh of Lilong Chajing Awang Leikai.
Speaking to media persons family of the victim disclosed that the bomb was found early this morning near the courtyard of the house, and immediately family informed to Singjamei police and later at around 6:30 am the bomb was picked up said police.
Regarding threats and demands, the spokesperson further said that there were no threat and demand to the victim however one month back a demand letter was found in gate, demanding of Rs. 10 lakhs from the Dr. Kh. Radheshyam by one outfit KCP ( Khaba Meitei).
In the meantime the local meira paibi also requested that the concerned not to repeat used act in future inside the local public area.
Placards like `stop gun culture`™, `we condemn hurling of bomb to the residence of Dr. Kh Radheshyam`™ etc were used during the protest.
