IMPHAL April 17: The Havildar and Constable Radio Telecom Officer (CRTO) Candidates Association, 2008 has demanded the state government to announce the results of the candidates who have appeared for the exams held in 2008.Th Bikram, spokesperson of the association in a press meet held at Mahabali Kabui Khul Community Hall today said that, the candidates are mentally depressed as results of the recruitment examination conducted by the state home department has remain undeclared since 2008.The candidates are apprehensive that time has been lost and the age bar of many candidates has elapsed, Bikram said. After the recruitment examination was held and the result remain undeclared, the government in the meantime had recruited drivers, IRB, MR rifleman, VDF and female SI /ASI, the training of the recruited persons have been completed and assigned duties at present. In the midst of the demand of the association to announce the results of the Havildar and CRTO posts, the endeavor of the government to recruit new SI/ASI and Jamandars have caused further confusion as the earlier results are still pending. Such actions have caused angst among the candidates who appeared for examination way back in 2008, he added. To address the issue, the association had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister on March 1 last and the issue has been brought to the Manipur Legislative Assembly sittings by MLA RK Anand of the MPP. The CM had also replied that the results will be announced at the earliest but the failure of the CM to fulfill his words is unfortunate and unbecoming of a leader of the government, Bikram added.Demanding the results to be declared before April 25 or to clarify on what grounds the results are being kept withheld, the association warned of taking up different forms of protests.
