Medical education prog kicks off

IMPHAL, April 29: A two days continuous medical education programme organised by Regional Research Institute Homeopathy, Imphal kicks off today at the State Guest House, Sanjenthong.

The programme is being sponsored by the Central Council for Research in Homeopathy, Department of Ayush, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, government of India.

The inaugural function was attended by Dr M Samo, director JNIMS as chief guest while Dr Ksh Chourjit, HOD Padriatics Department, JNIMS as president and Dr Jaya Gupta, assistant (H) CCRH, New Delhi as guest of honour.

Speaking at the function, Dr Samo said that there are different forms of treatment like allopathic, Ayush, Homeopathic etc.
As a doctor`™s bounded duty is to solve human sufferings and not to promote egos, a continuous training programme on medical education is needed not only at medical departments but also in other departments.

Taking opportunity of the programme, Dr Samo appealed to the militants not to target medical practitioners who are delivering their invaluable services to the people.

During the technical session, Dr Jaya Gupta spoke on the topic `Scope and limitation of homeopathy in the treatment of malaria, outcome of a few clinical research trials in malaria through homeopathy`™ while Dr Kh Lokeswor of JNIMS spoke on the topic `Malaria-its prevalence in Manipur and management`™.

In the evening technical session Dr Irom Kishorjit spoke on the topic, `Urolithiasis-cause, clinical features, diagnosis, complications and management`™ while Dr Benedict, SNO Ayush, NRHM spoke on the topic `Urolithiasis its management by homeopathy`™.

The programme was also attended by homeopathic doctors; pharmacist of Ayush working under NRHM.
