Ministers and MLA under NIA scanner

IMPHAL, April 5: The members team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) led by SK Singh, IPS, IGP (Investigation) NIA and Swoyam Prakash Pani, IAS, Superintendent (Crime) NIA have arrived the state capital this morning from Guwahati to carry out investigations against the officials, MLAs, minister of the state who have records of having nexus with insurgents groups operating in the state.
According to a highly placed official source, the recent visit of official team from NIA to the capital could be a part of follow up investigations aftermath of arresting chairman of the proscribed UNLF, RK Meghen alias Sanayaima by a team of NIA from Bihar during August, last year, and the investigation to the case have been undertaken by the NIA till today.
The official source further mentioned that, the visiting NIA official team will going to stay in the state till their investigations are completed and the official team of NIA will start investigation upon the ministers, MLAs, officials of different departments and engineers of various engineering departments of the state whom the agency has record of having nexus with the insurgents groups of the state.
The source also mentioned that, the visiting official team of NIA will also going to check the disproportionate assets maintained by the ministers, MLAs, officers and engineers of the state during their investigations.
It may be mentioned that, an official team of NIA had already conducted their investigations against the officials of departments and engineers working in some of the engineering departments during their month long stay in the state during November last year in connection with the arrested of UNLF chairman RK Meghen alias Sanayaima, during which many officials and engineers have taken their statements.
