No development without peace : Ibobi

IMPHAL, April 19: Chief Minister O. Ibobi said that there will be no development if there is no peace and only Congress government can bring peace and development in the state.

Speaking on a one-day district level special training programme on flagship and other schemes of the SPF govertment held today at Kumbi bazaar which was organized by Bishnupur District Congress committee, Ibobi said that the 15 point flagship scheme under UPA government is needed to be understood together and the scheme is introduced by UPA government and implemented by the state government.

The central government is pressurizing the state government to form monitoring committee in block level as well as in district level. Further, the central government has advised the state government to send the report of the work done so far by the implementing department on weekly or monthly basis, he said. He also appealed the general public as well as local MLA to cooperate the monitoring committee during their visit for inspecting the works taken up under these flagship schemes.

On the other side, relating to the demand made by the local public of Kumbi assembly constituency regarding the construction of new market shed and construction of polo ground at Kumbi, Ibobi assured them to look into this matter after consulting with the concerned authorities.

While giving the presidential speech, MPCC president Gaikhangam said that in Manipur there seem to be no Opposition at all. He further said that seeing Central government`™s developmental funds sanctioned for the state as well as the developmental works carried on till today by the state government, the opposition party were mute during the assembly sessions. While praising the SPF government, he said that there is all round development and Manipur enjoys a golden period.

Today`™s flagship programme was organized especially to publicise congress government`s manifesto and to give awareness about the flagship programmes to the general public.

The fifteen flagship programmes are Technology mission for horticulture, Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojana, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employees Gurantees Scheme, National Rural Health Mission, Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, SSA,IAY,MDM,TSP,RGGVY,ICD,NSAP,AIBP and APDRP.

The function was also attended by some of the cabinet minister and MLAs, MPCC Office bearers, executive Members of the MPCC,PCC Member, Chief of Frontals and Cells/ Depts, DCC/BCC President5s and Congress Workers, Adhakshya Zilla Parished Chairperson, N.P-MC, Pradhan.
