IMPHAL, April 27: A one day awareness programme and distribution of cheques to 24 weaver groups of Thangmeiband was held today at Ibudhou Naothingkhong Pakhangba Shanglen organized by Kabrabam Leikai Handloom Cluster.
The programme was among others attended by ex-CM and Thangmeiband MLA, Radhabinod Koijam, who is also president of the Thangmeiband Kendra Development Committee, Ch Dinachandra, Ibudhou Naothingkhong Pakhangba Lai Committee P Mangi and Cluster Development executive, Kabrambam Leikai Handloom cluster, M Ibeyam Devi  as chief guest, president, and guests of honour respectively.
Speaking at the programme, Radhabinod Koijam stressed the need to cultivate work culture so that the state can march towards development.
Regarding the habit of the people of state regarding nonpayment of loans, he called upon the loanees to maintain a habit of loan clearance.
While stating that Manipur has a high rate of crime of any form, he further stressed the need to bring peace, harmony and development so that the state can march ahead in the road of development.
Later, the chief guest distributed cheques to the 24 participating self help groups of Thangmeiband.
