IMPHAL, April 17: A 12 year old boy identified as Akoijam Shiva son of Somorendro of Thouabal Wangmataba was killed in a road accident last evening at around 7:25pm at Thoubal Bazar opposite to Ranita Polyclinic.The boy was knocked down by a tipper truck killing him instantly.Following the incident, the enraged locality of Thoubal Wangmataba blocked the National Highway 39 as a mark of protest and also demanding to book the vehicle and drivers involved in the incident.The blockade was suspended after the vehicle bearing registration number MN01-8069 along with the driver surrendered at Lilong police station at around 10 pm.The truck driver was identified as Kh Premananda Singh while the truck owner is identified to be one H Vikramjit Singh, managing director of the HVS Construction Private Limited, Patsoi.
