SF arrest four OG workers

IMPHAL, April 5: A combined team of 33 Assam Rifles of Loktak Brigade under red shield division along with Bishnupur Police commandos claimed to have arrested four over ground workers of militant groups in separate incidents.
A statement issued by the PIB Defence Wing, said that the combined troops during a search operation launched in Nongmaikhong Makha Leikai Village on April 3, arrested an over ground worker of PREPAK identified as one Heisnam Hirachandra Singh, 38, resident of Nongmaikhong Makha Leikai.
It said that the individual revealed that he is an OG and actively involved in recruitment, tax collection and extortion for the outfit from Nongmaikhong area. The team also recovered three Lathode shells and one 60mm mortar bomb based on information provided by the arrested OG. He along with the recovered items have been handed over to the Kumbi police, said the statement.
In another incident the combined team claimed to have busted another groups of OG workers indulging in extortion and illegal collection of money in Moirang.
It said that one on April 3, the team arrested three OG workers of KCP (MC) from Moirang Lamkhai, identified as one Mainul Haque alias Feroz, 24, s/o Abdul Samat alias Kala and resident of Irong Cherahaba Mayang Imphal, Wahengbam Keinahanbi, 50, w/o N. Biren of Phougakchao Ithai and Ningthoujam Rebecca Heman, 27, w/o Amit Heman of Phougakchao Awang Leikai.
The combined team recovered two live rounds of 9mm and one live round of 0.45 caliber from the individuals. They revealed that they were active member of the outfit and involved in recruitment, extortion and supply arms and ammunitions. The individual along with the recovered items have been handed over to the Moirang Police, it said.
