IMPHAL, May 8: Troops of 29 Assam Rifles arrested six recruits of a newly formed militant group called Zelingrong United Force while conducting an operation along NH-39 at Tengnoupal area claimed a statement issued by the PRO IGAR (S).It said the arrest was made on May 7 at around 2 pm. The troops came across six suspicious youths inside a Maruti van. On questioning, it was found that they were newly recruited into a new group called (ZUF) and being taken away from Imphal for training at Myanmar, it added.The individual have been identified as one Lungaiga Riamei of Awang Bazar, Bishanpur, Khangloungam Kamei, 19, s/o Lungam Nonei, Tamenglong, Gaijangam Golmei, 21, s/o Gaishinlung Golmei of Tamenglong, D. Winner Dengmai, 20, s/o Abuan Dengmai of Longmai, Tamenglong and Maithiu Pau, 27, s/o (L) Poubilung of Rangkhung, Tamenglong.The apprehended persons have been handed over to Tengnoupal Police station, said the statement.
