    IMPHAL, May 4: Troops of Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) launched an operation in the general area of Sita track on May 3 and intercepted an individual with drugs in a Maruti van with Registration No.MN-01W 4423, heading towards Moreh, according to a press release by the Assam Rifles.

    It mentioned that large amounts of drugs were recovered along with a sum of Rs 30025 and a mobile phone, and further identified the perpetrator as Muktar, 23, s/o late Mukllis of Moreh and was later handed over to the Tegnoupal Police Station.

    In a similar incident, the troops intercepted another two individuals along with drugs in a Tata truck with registration no. MN-01 7252 heading towards Moreh on the same day, who were identified as Oinam Maikel Singh, 43, s/o late O Tomba Singh and Tekchem Budhi Singh, 44, s/o late Kwaklei Singh, both from Wangjing, Thoubal.

    Large amounts of drugs were discovered from them and were handed over to Tegnoupal Police Station, it further added.
