Biometric enrollment exercise for unique ID-card kicks off in Ukhrul

Ashok Kumar (IAS) has today launched a sophisticated and facsimile modern technology for the process of “Biometric Enrollment Exercise” under the National Population Register(NPR) for Ukhrul district today in a simple but complicated launching ceremony at Ukhrul Town Hall this morning with the DC Ukhrul himself enrolling his face and finger print in the device.
“Biometric Enrolement Exercise” is a process in the device for measuring the exact or unique identifications of face, finger and iris of the particular citizen`s identification enabling to have a “unique Identity Card” which is to be considered the `over and above all other identity cards` for all the citizens of the country from 5 years old onward, the Sub-Divisional Officer/Charge Officer Ukhrul Central, Rajen Vishal (IAS) said during the occasion in his key-note address to the overwhelmed public.
He also stated that the with the newly launched Biometric enrolement Exercise after the smooth completion of the first and second phases of NPR data entering in the district the government is aiming to achieve more than 90% enrollment initially with the two selected take-off localities of Wino and Tangrei regions, within Ukhrul Town from today.
The Tangkhul Students` Union president Wungnaoshang A.Shimray, Dr.YL.Mingthing, director TTA, (Tangkhul Theological Association), headman Teinem village Wungchipei, Ashang Shaiza, representative of Tangkhul Naga Long(TNL), Shangreiso A. Shimray, former TNL president and Tangkhul Shanao Long (TSL) president Sila J.Konghay were among the public leaders who shared the constructive views of the latest development in Ukhrul district, Maipur. Officials from Bharat Electronic Kolkata and Bangalore are engaged in monitoring the device of the modern technology. The DC Ukhrul N. Ashok Kumar in his speech before the participants enjoined that the input of the latest development is a great challenge wherein, the process remains in continuous process and not a “one-time-go”. The best census enumerator under NPR was awarded to Joseph during the Occasion. The function was conducted by Ester Zingkhai, principal Blue Berry School Ukhrul and vote of thanks was delivered by SDC Ukhrul Polly Makan (MCS).
