IMPHAL, May 2: A Chinese made hand grenade was recovered yesterday from the residence of an active worker of MLA Brajabidhu who is also a special contractor at Lamdeng Khunou.
The contractor is identified to be one Thongam Nabin, 47, s/o (L) Naba of Lamdeng Khunou.
Reports said that the bomb was found around 5 am in the morning by a family member of Nabin inside his residence premises.
The bomb was later safely retrieved by a team of the Imphal West district police commandos.
Decrying the bomb threat, a sit in protest was held at Lamdeng organized by the women folk of the area.
It is worth mentioning that a splinter group of the KCP had issued a warning to take strong action against MLA Brajabidhu and his workers. However it remained unclear as to who and why the bomb threat was imposed.
