Commerce topper wants to be CA

IMPHAL May 29: Mebidita Chirom alias Pinkey, topped the commerce stream in the HSSLC exam from Shri Mahabir Jain Dhigambar School by securing a total mark of 368 with letter marks in two subjects. Elated at the result, she said that she aims to become a Charter Accountant. She is the eldest daughter of Ch. Sharat and Ch. Lata of Sagolband Yongkhom Leirak, Imphal.
On meeting with this reporter of the IFP at her home, she voiced amazement on getting the top position and gives the credit to her school teachers and family members for their whole hearted support.

She said that she studies for 6 to 7 hours at a stretch daily and burns the midnight oil. She takes the standard coaching classes but on holidays gets help in her studies from one of her teachers, namely Leishangthem Munindro from Naoremthong, who is an accounts officer at MANIREDA.

Further she opined on choosing the commerce stream as she comes from a business oriented family and wants to start her own enterprise if she does not get selected for the chartered accountant exams.

She wants to pursue her higher studies outside the state due to the law and order situation of the state in present which affects the educational atmosphere, moreover she will get facilities for coaching for the CA exams.

Mebita also felt disappointment on not being able to cross the 80 percent mark as she said that her percentage might prove a hurdle in getting admission in a premier college outside the state.

Interestingly, the second position is bagged by Neha Jain of the same school with just a margin of only three marks. She secured a total of 365 marks. Neha Jain is the d/o Sarla Jain and Deepchand Jain of Thangal Bazar, Imphal.

Bhasker Thingujam of Churachand Higher secondary school bagged the third position with 362 marks. He is the S/o Th. (o) Hema and Th. Sharatchandra of Kongpal Chanam Leikai.
