Devotees gather at the Khana Chaoba Wanpurel Epudhou

IMPHAL May 27: People from all walks of life today gathered at the Khana Chaoba Wanpurel Epudhou Temple at Serou, Chandel district for a three day long function which is organised in the month of May every year since 1983.

According to a statement, the function started on May 25 and concluded on May 27 wherein more than 30,000 devotees from all over the state took a dip at the `Sangam` of Imphal and Chakpi River to wash away their sins and offer prayers to “Khana Chaoba Wanpurel Epudhou”, the trinity of Brahma, Vishu and Mahesh.

It further stated that elaborate arrangements were made for all the devotees who had come from far off places. Food & water facilities were also made available for the people visiting the temple.

Y Ongbi Indira Leima, incharge of the function, expressed her sincere gratitude and thanks to Major Vivek Malik, Sugnu Post Cdr of 27 Assam Rifles and Commandant 27 Assam Rifles for all the help rendered especially the arrangements for drinking water, providing security cover during the entire duration and the full fledged participation of all the jawans of 27 Assam Rifles, it stated.
