IMPHAL, May 17: Edufest, Eastern India`™s Biggest Education Fair comes to Manipur this year with the Fair to be held at the DM College Auditorium, Imphal. Edu Fest is being organized with the support and encouragement of the All Manipur Working Journalists Union.
Edufest over the last 9 years has become a very important forum for students and parents to find out more about their courses and eligibility for students of North Eastern India. Held every year in Assam, Meghalaya and Mizoram, Nagaland & Tripura this would be the first time this exhibition would come to Manipur providing a unique opportunity for the student community who are thinking of studying outside the region.
It has become a very important forum for students and parents to interact with different institutions, with 50 colleges from all over the country participating. Officials and representatives of colleges from Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, New Delhi, Orissa, West Bengal would be present to meet the students and talk about the various courses that they are offering.
During the fest, students and their parents would be able to find out information on the course fee, admission requirements, hostel facilities, placements, starting salaries etc of the various institutions. Students can also take spot admission into most courses.
With the class 12th examinations over, students would now have an opportunity to also take admissions to some of these quality institutions that would be present at Edufest in Dimapur.
Elizabeth Lyngdoh from Shillong had a great experience at Edufest this year ` I could meet many renowned institutions and choose one of them to take admission in. My sister got her admission at Edufest 6 years back and today she has a successful job in HSBC in Bangalore`. Edufest is the only exhibition in India where only college officials are allowed to participate. This enables students to talk to colleges with the knowledge that they would be receiving genuine information.
Along with these choices a student has also to decide where they can study these courses as the choice of the place of study would mean an easier way to find jobs once they pass out from their courses. Students also need to find out this information as they would have to decide on the course and college depending on the marks they have obtained and also the budgets their parents have planned for them to finish their course.
This interactive process in Edufest is a very important process as only accredited institutions participate in Edufest.
The exhibition would see many reputed institutions participating like Navodaya Medical College, NITTE University, International Institute of Hotel Management School, to name a few. Students thus have a very exciting exhibition coming up and visitors can win prizes like I-pods.
