IMPHAL, May 9: Altogether four persons including two minor girls have been killed in different road mishaps in the state today.In the first incident a person riding a Honda active along the Kekrupat road hit a horse this morning around 10:30 am throwing him off the vehicle and injuring him badly. He later succumbed to his injuries at Shija hospital.The victim is identified as Haobijam Santosh, 48, s/o (L) Samungou of Sagolband Kangabam Leikai.In another accident which occurred at Chingamathak Pisum Leirak around 10:35 am, a motorcycle (Yamaha R15 MNO1R-8434) borne youth was killed when it accidentally hit the rear of a diesel auto (MN03W-0132).The victim is identified as one Thokchom Samarjit, 25, s/o Suresh of Meitram.The third incident took place near Druga Puja Lampak Wangkhei a Tata truck knocked down three persons coming on a Honda active. Of the three victims two said to be sisters were killed instantly while their mother sustained serious injury.The injured victim identified as one Khumanthem Amutombi, 48, w/o Kh. Ibochou of Mayang Imphal, at present staying at Wangkhei Durga Puja Lampak, is currently undergoing treatment at Shija hospital.The deceased sisters were identified as Kh. Taurbi, 15 and Kh. Tondon 11.Reports said that the trucks involved in the accident surrendered to the Irilbung police station late in the evening.
