IMPHAL, May 15: The state government has approved to accord sanctions for direct purchase of land and the values of the standing properties which will be affected by the process of road widening including the state highways from WathamLeirak to RIMS traffic Rotary via Fishery crossing with a total length of 1.5 Kms, Maharani Bridge to Khoyathong, Khoyathong to Lilashing Khongnag Khong and North AOC to Khongnang Ani Karak along National High way 39.According to an official source as per a recent cabinet decision, the concerned Deputy Commissioners had been advised to assess the value of the land which will be affected by the proposed road widening, while the state PWD department had been advised to assess the standing properties along the roads. The source further mentioned that according to the assessment done by the concerned Deputy Commissioners as advised by the state cabinet decision the total compensation value of land to be affected by the road widening of Watham Leirak to RIMS Traffic Rotary Via Fishery Crossing has been fixed at Rs.2,90,74,406, Maharani Bridge to Khoyathong at Rs.1,49,60,687.The total compensation for the Khuyathong to Lilashing Khongnangkhong has been fixed at Rs.1,83,13,686 and that of North AOC to Khongnang Ani Karak at Rs.1,13,72,553, added the source.Further according to the same source, the state PWD has also assessed the values of the standing properties of the affected pattadars, which has been officially approved.The department in its assessment report has fixed the compensation of standing properties along the Watham Leirak to RIMS Traffic Rotary via Fishery Crossing at Rs.9,40,13,210, for Maharani Bridge to Khuyathong it has been fixed at Rs.8,52,44,793.The total compensation for the Khoyathong to Lilashing Khongnangkhong has been fixed at Rs.6,67,80,930 while Rs.1,25,09,811 has been fixed as compensation for standing properties along the North AOC to Khongnang Ani Karak stretch.The source also stated that the state government has also approved for the concerned Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West/Imphal East to authorize the direct purchased of land through negotiated rates based on the assessment referred above and for payment of compensation for the affected standing properties as assessed by the PWD.
