IMPHAL, May 13: After completion of construction of infrastructure and acquiring of manpower for the newly established nine police stations in the state, the area of jurisdictions/villages which are to be covered by the respective police stations have been announced by the state Home department recently.
As per an official notification issued by the state Home department recently, 20 villages including Gwaltabi, Thamnapokpi, Shabungkhok, Seijang, Sanashabi, Leimakhong Mapal, Chingnungkhok, Thayong, Nongpok Kakching, Laikoiching Tangkhul village, Jalembung, Laikot Kom village, Joyland Tangkhul village, New Canan, Tellou, Sunurok, Chana, Laikot Pahizol Urangpat and Molnom Kuki will fall under the jurisdiction of Yaingangpokpi Police Station.
16 villages including Maphou Kuki village, Maphou Tangkhul village, Island village, Chaningpokpi, Laikot Khunou, Moirangpan, Nongneljang, Rishophung, Thangjingpokpi, Tuisenphai, Nungkot Khunou, Moirangpurel, Itham, Keithelmanbi Leirongthel Pitra and Laikoiching Tangkhul will be under the jurisdiction of Thoubal/Maphou Dam Police station.
On the other hand 14 villages including Heirok Pt-I, II, III, Konaitong, Thamlai Khullen, Thamlai Khunou, Korongthel, Wabaching, Kangdabi, Chingdompok, Kang Yambem Salungpham, Kang Thokchao, Mary Land and Ringpam will be under the jurisdiction of Heirok Police station.
The villages under the jurisdiction of newly open Khongjom Police Station are Kang Samaram, Tentha, Chingtham, Sapam Tekcham, Khongjom, Sora, Langathel, Phundrei, Langthabal Khunou, Patpal Koijam Maring and Laiching Minou. Further, 15 villages including Sekmaijin, Sekmaijin Khunou, Hiranmei, Hiyanglam Natek Khong, Hiyanglam Ningol Khong, Wabagai Tera Pishak, Wabagai Keithel Macha, Wabagai Thingel, Wabagai Kadajit, Hiyanglam Pt-1 Awang Leikai, Hiynaglam Pt-I Mayai Leikai, Hiyanglam Makha Leikai, Hiyanglam Waikhom Leikai, Santhel and Hayel Hangun will be under the jurisdiction of Hiyanglam Police station.
10 villages including Wangjing Khunou, Pangantabi, Nungoo, Chairel Chairel West, Khongyam Wangoo Sabal Wangoo Laipham Wangoo Laikha and Mahao Tera will come under the jurisdiction of Wangoo Police Station.
In the meantime seven more villages including Arong, Nongmaikhong, Laphupat Tera Khoidumpat, Chingjao, Sarik Konjil, Tokpaching and Thongam Mondum will be kept under the jurisdiction of Arong Nongmaikhong Police Station.
Furthermore 21 villages including Nongpok Sekmai, Sikhong, Sekmai Khunbi Heingang Lok, Ingourok, Lungther, Kharan, Ningel Kakmayai, Haokhong, Mayai Keithel, Phailengyang, Gelbung, Sada, Chandrakhong, Samarei, Leirongthel, Kwarok, Lourembam, Lameithek and Ukhongshang will be covered under the jurisdiction of newly opened Nongpok Sekmai police station according to the official notification of the state Home department.
