IMPHAL May 29: One Day Constituency Level Convention on HIV & AIDS cum Free Medical Camp was organized today at Maram Bazar in Senapati District by Manipur Legislator`™s Forum on HIV & AIDS with the support of K. Raina, MLA Maram A/C and the Department of Surgery, JNIMS, Porampat, Imphal.
The One Day Constituency Level Convention on HIV & AIDS was graced by R K Peter, President of Maram Union as the chief guest. Other dignitaries and resource persons from different field were also present on the dais.
K. Raina, while expressing his satisfaction opined that such medical camp should be organized from time to time keeping in view of the disadvantaged sections in our state.
The awareness campaign on HIV/AIDS was initiated along side the free medical camp conducted by a team of specialist headed by Dr.N. Jitendra, Associate Professor, Surgery, JNIMS, Porompat. During the medical camp, various medicine were dispersed at free of cost. Talking to the media persons Dr. Jiten informed that cute financial constraint coupled with the remoteness of the region has deprived the several basic health care amenities to the local populace. In view of this situation, the camp was organized to provide necessary care and attention to the people , he added.Thanking the local MLA, Maram A/C and the his concerned department for providing needed support for organizing such free medical camp in Maram bazar, Jitendra said that specialist from ENT, medicine, Paediatric, Gynaecology, Orthopaedic and ICTC for test HIV/AIDS were present to facilitate the local populace who were also coming from the neibouring villages.He said that more than thousands turned up for medical check up.
The doctors from Maram Primary Health Centre were also present during the camp.
