KCP MC to launch drive against migrant influx

IMPHAL, May 9: The Kangleipak Communist Party, Military Council (KCP MC) in a statement released by Lanheiba Meitei, secretary military affairs has informed that the outfit’s Kangleipak Feengnang Lanmee (KFL) is all set to launch its second series of “Operation Clear Cut” to drive away migrants from the state.A meeting with the CSO and the outfit’s centre Security Council was held in this connection. The meet further resolved to take joint initiative to implement the Inner Permit System (ILP) in the state as a part of the drive against the influx.It mentioned that the drive could even result to fatal violence against some people of the state favouring the influx who had been ignoring the wake up calls of the outfit.It issued stern warning that the KLF is all set to launch its drive irrespective of young and old, women and children and asserted that the outfit is also all prepared to confront against any reaction, condemnations which includes sit in protest etc in the aftermath of the drive.The outfit urged the people to accept the drive as an instrument to save the indigenous population and prevent a Tripura like situation in the state and not to view it as a sinister design to create unrest and tension among the communities residing in the state, it said.It pointed out that the most affected division is the Jiribam Sub-division. The division is on the verge of overtaking by migrant population, it added.
