IMPHAL, May 2: The state government has constituted a magisterial enquiry into the alleged encounter leading to the death of one Irengbam Ratankumar Singh, 26, son of I Babu Singh of Phoubakchao presently a resident of Langol with the Imphal west district police commandos at Ningombam inter village road near Vale Academy School under Singjamei Police station on September 1 last year.
In this regard, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Wangoi, Imphal West has issued an official notification recently on April 28 stating that the said magisterial enquiry has to be conducted by an executive magistrate of Imphal West with an objective to find out the facts and circumstances leading to the incident, analysis of the facts and circumstances, findings based on the facts and circumstances and analysis thereof and recommendations to prevent recurrence of such incident in the future.
On the other hand the district magistrate Imphal West has appointed the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Wangoi to conduct the said constituted magisterial enquiry which will be conducted in the camp office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Wangoi, Imphal West District of the office complex of the Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West, Lamphelpat.
The official notification further advised that any person / persons desirous to give oral evidence or produce any material / documents before enquiry officer in connection with the said magisterial enquiry are advised to submit along with his/her particulars to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Wangoi, Imphal West on or before May 11 this month, the official notification added.
