O Joy criticises NPF formation in state

IMPHAL May 27 : Veteran politician and MLA of Langthabal Assembly constituency O Joy gave cynical comments regarding the formation of the Naga People`s Front in the state.

Briefing media persons at the MPP office at pologround today, O Joy said that the interest of the NPF political party is doubtful and seems to be in contrary to the interest of the public of the state.

He said that the NPF cannot be allowed to take roots in Manipur and further condemned the endeavour of the Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphieu Rio.

He further stated that, the NPF constitution aims to integrate only a specific community and is not targeted at the common welfare of the general public, as the party allows only Nagas as eligible for the party primary membership which is against the norms laid down by the constitution of India for any regional political party. Such norms are not in the interest of bringing about communal harmony in the state and the region, he said.

He further alleged that similar to the designs of the NSCN (IM) to bring about a greater Nagalim, the designs of Neiphiu Rio is also to disintegrate Manipur by instituting the NPF in Senapati. The MPP stands against the vested interest of such certain politicians and will stand for the integrity of the state.
