IMPHAL May 5: Lamsang Nupi Khunai Apunba Lup organized a pubic meet on plebiscite at Heibongpokpi Comunity hall today. The meet was attended by Mutum Manbi Leima , president of Nupi Khunai Apunba Lup , Sapam Pari khuman , social activist, Laisram Irabot social activist, Chirom Nabadweep retired superintendent of YAS and S. Momon Leima, president All Manipur Tammi Chingmi Apunba Lup as the presidium members .
Y. Nabachandra ,vice president of UCM and Dhiren Yengkokpam , president of UPF spoke as the resource persons.
The resource persons opined that the conflict situation which have long prevailed in the state cannot be brought to an end through military might and violence alone. The call for self determination and for holding the plebiscite is a democratic process and the public needs to be aware that this is the lone means to end the conflict scenario.
The meet resolved to urge the public to endorse the plebiscite stance and to submit the wants of the public to the UN and other human rights organizations.
