IMPHAL, May 8: A van was set ablaze while several others were damaged by suspected bandh supporter today along the NH-39 in the wake of the indefinite imposed by the Leibi Village Authority.According to sources, the ill fated van bearing registration number MNO1/W-9433 heading towards Imphal was set ablaze by suspected bandh supporters at Leingangtabi in between Lokchao and Kongkhang.The sources further said bandh supporter also damaged some vehicles at Thamnapokpi area.The Leibi Village Authority imposed the bandh since yesterday in protest against land demarcation conducted by the DC which they claimed is devoid of official formalities. The village authority has demanded resignation of the DC including other officials.The village authority had earlier set a deadline for the government to fulfill their demands and warned the government to launched intensive forms of agitation if failed.
