IMPHAL, May 13: The leader of a Tangkhul student’s body had been reportedly abducted by armed militant suspects on the after noon of May 12 from in between Chahong Khunou and Chatric village under Kamjong Sub-Division, Ukhrul district.The student leader is identified to be one KS. Ramsing, 27, s/o KS Ningshi of Chatric kullen.Sources said that the kidnapping took place around 2 pm at the border area of Ukhrul on May 12. The victim, who is said to be the president of Sambu Raiping Katamnao Long, was abducted by about 13 well armed militants suspected to be of a valley based group.The person has remained traceless till date and a complaint has been lodged at the Ukhrul police station in connection with the abduction, added the source.In the meantime, the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) has strongly condemned the act of kidnapping a person without any rhyme or reason. Claiming that the abducted victim is an innocent person, the TKS has appeal the concerned party involved in the abduction to release the victim safe and sound without any condition so as to avert any unwanted situation arising out of the incident.It has also appealed the right thinking citizens of the state to condemn the act which violates the fundamental Human Rights.
