Students` bodies appeals for ITI ban lift

IMPHAL, May 5: Various students`™ bodies have appealed the KCP Yaiphaba group to lift the ban imposed on the ITI, Takyel in the interest of the student community of the state.

The appeal was made during a joint press meet attended by the AMSU, DESAM, All Manipur ITI Union and staff, students of ITI Takyel, held today at the ITI complex, Takyel today.

Speaking on the matter L. Sanjit, deputy secretary of DESAM, condemned the act of imposing a ban upon the institution for a misunderstand between the outfit and Th, Mani Babu, joint director of ITI adding the act has overlook the contribution of the premier institute and interest of the students`™ community.

He said that the institute has provided many jobless youths with employment opportunities and termed the banning of such an institute as unfortunate.

He appealed to the organizations or individuals not to cause disturbances to education and to create a free zone for education.

P. Robindro principal ITI, also appealed both sides to bring an amicable solution at the earliest and expressed his concerned that such disturbances might effect the career of the students as the institution follow the common national academic calendar.

The AMSU representatives who were present during the meet also appealed the outfit to lift the ban in the interest of the students.

The ban was imposed by the outfit since May 3 this month.
