IMPHAL May 11: Convenor of the Khwairamband Bazar Vendors Nupi Yaifa Lup, Bajita Begum has today demanded the unconditional release of the 25 women street vendors arrested by state police.
A press release decried the high handed approach of the state government meted out to the innocent vendors, who are living on a hand to mouth basis by selling vegetables at the market. It states that the cabinet decision to shift the market place to a remote area should be revoked and the sitting arrangements should be made at the temporary market shed for the time being.
