IMPHAL, May 21: Security forces claimed to have arrested at least four militant cadres including a woman activist from separate counter insurgency operations launched in different parts of the state.
A statement issued by the Superintendent of Police Imphal West district stated that the district police commandos have arrested one woman cadre of the proscribed KCP (Pibarel) group from her house yesterday at 10:30 am.
She has been identified as one Oinam (o) Bidyarani Devi alias Ibema, 29, w/o Oinam Syamchand Singh of Kakwa Maibam Leikai.It said on spot verification the arrested woman disclosed that she is working under one Koron of the finance section of the party, and had extorted a sum of Rs. 43,000 from the CADA office and rupees 23000 from Manidco as party fund.
It further stated, on follow up action another KCP member was also arrested the same day at around 11:30 am from his residence, identified as one Thiyam Biramangol alias Mamma, 58, s/o (L) Th. Chandramani Singh of Patsoi Part III.
On the other hand the Lilong police also arrested a cadre of KCP (MC) yesterday at about 11:25 am from Lilong Turel while conducting search operation, claimed a statement issued by the SP Thoubal district police.
The individual is identified as one Md. Farooque, 25, s/o Md. Hakim of Lilong Haoreibi Mayai Leikai.
