IMPHAL, May 6: The Women Action for Development (WAD), working for the cause of women and children has appreciated the Government’s initiative in cleaning up Khwairamband Bazar area in a press release.
However taking on a different route, the organization brings into question, the tactless way the government has tackled the street vendors, with regards to the shifting of the vendors to Lamphel area and aggrieves that the vendors are in a very pathetic situation because of the shift.
It further condemns the arrest of twenty five street vendors and appeals the Government to settle the problem as soon as possible.
