IMPHAL June 26: June 26 is observed every year as the International day against drug abused and illicit trafficking all across the world. The day also coincides with the beginning of the crusades of All Manipur Anti Drug Association against drug abuse and illicit trafficking in the state. Since 2006, the association has been observing the day by organizing various community awareness initiatives.
This year the association observed the day for the 6th time which was held at Mantak village in Kakching under the international theme “think health not drugs”.
The Association also observed under its theme “self realization, self responsibility, self protection against abused and illicit trafficking”.
In relation with the observation, Mantak village authority, Kakching was conferred with the 5th annual excellent award “The marvel” “Athouba” 2011.
The award is given to individual or organization in recognition of their outstanding service against HIV/AIDS. The award carries a cash of Rs 5000, a memento and a citation.
