Biometric enrollment for national Id-card launched in Lilong

IMPHAL, June 4: Biometric Enrollment camp was launched today at the office complex of SDO, Lilong, under Thoubal district this morning with an objective to facilitate national identity cards to citizen of the state.The formal launching of the Biomatric Enrollment Camp at SDO office complex at Liong was done by the SDO Lilong, Kimjalhai Kipgen this morning as chief guest of the camp.The SDO while inaugurating the camp mentioned that, the programme was implemented as a part of the central project undertaken by Bharat Electronic Ltd. of Directorate of Census Government of India under Ministry of Home Affairs’ Government of India.She further mentioned that, initiating of such camp for providing National Identity cards to the registered voters of the state will provide multiple facilities to voters of the state and the people of the state need to extend their co-operation in the series of such similar programmes which are likely to extend in other parts of the districts.In the meantime, during the formal launching of the Biomatric Enrollment Camp, collection of biometric of former councilor of the Lilong Nagar Panchayat Thoibi Bibi was done this morning. The formal launching function was attended by the V Kukarni, Bharat Electronic Ltd. in-charge of Manipur as guest of honour and presided over by chairperson of Lilong Nagar Panchayat, Md. Shah Alam.According to V Kukarni, the camp today enrolled about 6000 individuals under Biometric enrollment.
