CM provides assurance to JAC demand in Jotin killing; fitting govt job for wife of victim among demands

IMPHAL, June 15: Decrying the killing of H. Jotin 45 of Yumnam Huidrom Mayai Leikai by unidentified gunmen yesterday at Thiyam Leishangkhom, the local public of the area has today formed a JAC and organized a mass rally with sit in protest at Wangoi Thongkhong Luxmi bazaar under banner “ Jotin Meehata Chennaba sing Puthoklak-U”.

Speaking to media person the JAC convernor, Doren Kha-ngamba said that Jotin is a simple person who runs a Pharmacy at Wangoi besides being a staff of the state medical department.

He also demanded the concern individuals involved in the killing to identify and to clarify.

Another local meira paibi while condemning the killing said that the people of Yumnam Huidrom as well as people from the neighboring villages are organizing this protest and also to show that the present women society are against terrorism. She has further demanded to clarify on the reason.

She further lamented that the large number of police personnel who are recruited for maintaining law and order has failed to maintained it.

Further speaking for all the womenfolk attending the protest demonstration, she has appealed to the concerned to work towards improving the law and order situation in the state.

The JAC further taken a resolution demanding arrest of the culprits involved in the killing and to bring them out within 48 hours.

It has also demanded a government job for the wife of the victim H Kiranmala according to her qualification.

Setting a 48 hour deadline, the JAC has decided to imposed a 48 hours bandh along the Mayai Lambi and not take the dead body.

The JAC led by local MLA Salam Joy submitted the memorandum to the Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, in a telephonic conversation with the IFP, a member of the JAC has informed that the Chief Minister has provided his assurance regarding the demands of the JAC following which the JAC has agreed to retrieve the dead body tomorrow from the RIMS morgue.

He also stated that the whole Wangoi Assembly Constituencies will organised sit in protest demonstrations at different locations tomorrow against the day by day increasing acts of terrorism in the state and will also blocked the inter district roads passing through the Wangoi area from 5am to 5 pm.
