Leishang Hiden development to be completed by July/August: CM

IMPHAL, June 21: The state government is planning to complete the developmental works taken up at the Leishang Hiden by July/August this year.

This was stated by the Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi Singh during an official inspection tour of the site which is around 3 kms long and lying east of Manipur University.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by state works minister K Ranjit, DC Imphal West Radhakumar and chief engineer PWD Loken Singh and other officials during the inspection tour today.

After inspecting the present developmental works undertaken along the 3 km long water body revered popularly as the Leishang Hiden by the local people, he appreciated the work progress at the site and further told the accompanying media persons that the ongoing project will be completed by July or early part of August.

Further furnishing the state plans of the project, he added that the concerned departments including the forest and horticulture department had been recently advised to start with the beautification process of the site including planting of flowers and trees on both sides of the water body.
