Minister Ranjit confident of INC victory in general election

IMPHAL, June 17: Works minister K. Ranjit stated that the thumping victory of the recently concluded Imphal Municipal Council (IMC) election where in the INC secured the absolute majority, is the testimony that the Indian National Congress will emerge victorious in the ensuing general election.

The minister stated this during the felicitation programme of newly elected IMC chairman, councilors and ward development committee members of the Keishamthong Assembly Constiuency, held today at Pishumthong Oinam Leikai Ireima Laibung organized by the Keishamthong Block Congress committee.

Further in his chief guest speech the works minister appealed the gathering to refrain from casting their votes for political parties or individuals who will not work in the interest of the people.

He further urged the newly elected representatives to sincerely discharge their duties and avoid works that could malign the image of the Congress and also assured the gathering to take up developmental works in the constituency very soon.

The works minister in a humiliating tone stated that regardless of the doctorate degree and acknowledgement earned in the political arena, Dr. M. Nara, general secretary of CPI, Manipur and ex minister, is ignorant about the history of Manipur.

He mocked that it was very unfortunate how the well educated and senior politician was unaware about who deliver Kangla to the people and how the AFSPA was removed from the seven segment of the Imphal Municipal Council.

The boastful tones of those regional parties and like minded party who were, influencing the people that it would overthrow the Congress party has been completely zipped into silence by the consecutive victory of the Congress in the Nagar Panchayat and IMC election.

Implying to the consecutive victories it achieved the minister expressed his confidence that the INC will emerge victorious in the ensuing 10th general election.
