IMPHAL, June 18: A teenage girl was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside her room today at Lilong Houreibi Makha Leikai, under Lilong Police station, Thoubal district.
According to information culled from the spot the girl was found dead in the wee hours today inside her room with a bottle of poison lying nearby.
The victim was reportedly staying at her mother’s maternal home.
Sources, disclosed that some elders of the decease girl had found her last night with a local boy identified as one M. Azmir alias Naoba, 15, s/o Haji Taher Ali, with whom the girl is alleged to have a love affair
However on finding the girl dead this morning the family has pointed suspicious finger on the boy and hunted him down to enquire on the matter.
However some local elders and club leaders told mediapersons that as per their findings the boy seems to have no relation with the death of the girl.
The case was solely handled by the elders and a local club, who also informed that as no apparent foul play was found a case will not be registered in the regard.
The media persons could not get access to the family members of the victim for they were informed that both the family were under a meeting headed by a local club and elders.
The media persons failed to get any clear account of the incident as even the police was clueless of what was going on and what the agenda of the meeting of the families was.
In the meantime, an enraged source closed to the deceased family, on condition of anonymity alleged that the boy had persuaded the deceased in drinking the poison. “Both of them were seen together at the deceased room and they have been having love affairs for quite a time now” said the source.
