South Point school to meet CT school in IW Subroto Mukherjee football final

IMPHAL, June 8: South Point School defeated Travani Public School by 5-4 goals in the tie-break in the first semi final of the U-17 Boys Imphal West Subroto Mukherjee football tournament.

In the semi final match played at Khuman Lampak, Travani Public School took early lead with a second minute goal scored by Ashokumar.

South Point School managed to level the score with an equaliser from Punilkanta in the 59th minute.

As the two team locked at 1-1 throughout the normal time, the match had to be decided through tie-break in which SPS scored five goals against four by Travani School.

South Point School will meet CT Higher Secondary School which defeated Ideal Public School in the second semi final played today at the same ground, practice field of Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

In the second semi final,  CT Hr. Sec. School outplayed Ideal Public School and went on to win the match with 3-0 scoreline.
 
Sanajaoba, S Rahul and Boson scored one apiece goal in the match thereby putting CT Hr. Sec. School to the final of the qualifying round of the prestigious school football cup.

The final will be played tomorrow at the same venue.
