State officials to table expenses of state home department at New Delhi

By A Staff ReporterIMPHAL, June 6: The meeting of the screening committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs’ which will be chaired by the secretary MHA, Gopal Krishna Pillai will be convened tomorrow at Delhi to review security related expenditures of the state for the financial year 2010-11.
According to an official source, in view of the proposed official level meeting of the MHA, an official intimation has been given to the state Home department to table all necessary information related to the expenditure incurred for the development of the state security forces which have been utilized during the state counter insurgency operations including the modernization of the state police forces.
The source also mentioned that, after considering the official intimation from the MHA, the state Home department has deputed, two IPS officers, P Pachou IPS, IGP Admn. and special secretary Home of the state government Ashutosh Kumar IPS for the said review meeting tomorrow.
It may be mentioned that, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, realizing the various aspects of grievances in terms of maintaining law and order and the relevant insurgency caused problems in the state, paid special attention to the state government by providing both physical and financial assistance to restore normalcy in the state.
Above this the state government has been proceeding for the opening of new Police Stations and Police Outposts as per the increasing trend of crimes and increasing population of the districts in the state at present.
 The state government is in the process to attain adequate man power with equipments with the blessing from the centre to any proposal made by the state government to meet the requirement for maintaining proper law and order in the state the source added.
The source further maintained that the two deputed officials will place all official documentations related to the expenses of the state home department during the meeting.
