AMTU condemns

IMPHAL, July 7 (Newmai News Network): The All Manipur Tribal Union (AMTU) said it is absurd to serve quit notice to anyone from any area. Condemning the so called `Naga Crusaders` act, the AMTU said those vested interest elements aimed at creating confusion in the society are behind such activities. The tribal body said that though the so called `Naga Crusaders` can be a fictitious organisation, already some confusion has been created. AMTU appeals all sections of the society in Manipur not to get carried away by such propaganda of the so called Naga Crusaders.

Meanwhile, AMTU general secretary Romeo Bungdon urged the state government to look into the situation in Lamphelpat and Game Village areas as the people are suffering due to the inundation of the area. He said unusually, in the last thre years there have been frequent cases of flooding in the areas including several paddy fields. Suggesting a solution, Romeo Bundon said the problem can be eased if the canal run by the side of Central Agriculture University (CAU) towards Nambul river is diverted to Singda Dam.
