Baji Ibohanbi remembered during death anniv observation

IMPHAL, July 1: The 16th death anniversary of Baji Yendrenbam Ibohanbi, the founder of Eternal Spring English School, was observed today at Sekta.

The observation was attended by H Yaiskul Meitei, advisor ESES, M Shamungou Meitei, president ESES, N Ingo, advisor ESES, and L Romesh, Principal of Emanuel English School, as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.

The local populace, students and members of social organizations of Sekta area conducted a peace procession and later offered floral tribute at the memorial stone of Baji Ibohanbi.

The school management committee of Eternal Spring English School also distributed 10 kilograms of rice each at a subsidized rate to families belonging to below poverty line.

Speaking at the occasion, the secretary of ESES, S Lolendro stated that Baji Ibohanbi had pioneered education at the backward village of Sekta in the early 1980s. The Eternal Spring English School has been providing education to the poor students of Sekta without taking any tuition fee, he noted.
