Compilation of poems released

    IMPHAL July 9: “Ngairi Ngasisu Panthung”, a compilation of short Manipuri poems authored by Rimeeta Aribam was released this afternoon during a formal release function at the Manipur Press club, Imphal. 

    The author, Rimeeta, is a B.A. student at G.G. Singh College for women at Chandigarh, and is reported to be the youngest to release a compilation of poems in Manipuri language.

    The book will also have the English translation of the Manipuri poems.

    Prof. N. Khagendra Singh, convener, Manipur advisory board Sahitya akademi, New Delhi, Kh. Jaikishan Singh, president Thangmeiband Kendra development organization, Prof. H. Behari Singh, member, Manipur advisory board, Sahitya Akedemi, New Delhi, Dr. Sharatchandra Longjamba, hod Manipuri, Kha Manipuri college Kakching and Dr. Koijam Shantibala asst. prof. M. U. were on the dais at the release function.

    The book review was done by Dr. Sharatchandra and Dr Shantibala.

    Rimeeta was born on August 25, 1991 to A. Chourajit Sharma and A (o) Joymati Devi who are residents of the Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak.
