Distance learning to begin

IMPHAL, July 27:  Manipur Science & Technology Council, Imphal is organizing  six weeks distance learning programme through EduSat on ‘basic of remote sensing, geographical information system and global positioning system at Manipur Vigyan Prasar SIT, Manipur Science Aquarium Complex DM college commerce campus from August 1 next month till October 28.

According to a release, the programme is to be conducted by Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dheradun under National Natural Resources Management Systems Deptt. Of Space. Government of India.

The programme will cover four modules including remote sensing and digital image analysis for two weeks,  global positioning system for one week, geographical information system for two weeks and RS & GIS application for one week, the release added.

The source further mentioned that the total intake capacity will be only 20 numbers on first cum first serve basis, there will be an enrolment fee of Rs.500 per student and the study material will be supplied.

In this regard all the graduate and post graduate students in science discipline and geography may submit their application forms dully forwarded by head of the institution on or before July 30 to the office of the director Manipur Science and Technology council, the release added.
