IMPHAL, July 9: The toppers of the Ruangmei language subject in the HSCL examination 2011 were honoured with cash rewards and citation during the felicitation programme held at the Tribal Research Institute’s hall, Imphal which was organized by Rongmei Literature Society today.
The cash rewards alongwith the citations were distributed by the MPCC president, MLA Gaikhangam.
Toppers who have received the awards are Gaikhanggangpou Guanmei s/o Diliangpou, student of CGS, Tamenglong first prize of Rs.10,000 in cash with citation, Chamgaiguang Gonmei s/o Kajolung Gonmei student of CGS, Tamenglong second prize of Rs.7000 with citation, and third prize of Rs.5000 was received by Lunganthaina Meringmei, d/o late M Abungpou, student of Gilal High School, Loktak Porject, Ningtorurei Gonmei s/o Ramgazuan Gonmei, student of Children Training school, Luangmai and Peace Rongmei s/o Khangbi Rongmei, student of Sharon English school, Luangmai.
In the meantime, MPCC president, MLA Gaikhangam while giving his speech during the felicitation function today mentioned that the workers of the Rongmei Literature Society has another responsibility to introduce the Ruangmai language subject in higher classes also after accomplishing the present stage of efforts, he added.
