IMPHAL, July 26: In the continuous counter insurgency operation conducted by the Imphal East district police commandos four cadres belonging to two different underground organization were apprehended today during separate operations.
According to the release of SP Imphal East, a team of Imphal East district police commandos apprehended one cadre of under ground KPC identified as Phijam Raison alias Amutombi alias Tayai Singh, 15, s/o Ph Ibungobi of Pundongbam Mayai Leikai from Yorbung village this morning around 7.30 am during operation and seized one mobile phone from his possession.
The release further added that, on spot verification the arrested person disclosed to the police that he is an active member of the KCP and further two more cadres of the same outfit identified as Wahengbam Manisana alias Yuremba Singh, 17, s/o W Mohan Singh of Sekta Makha Leikai and Sapan Surendra alias Naocha Singh 16, s/o S Ibotombi of Sekta Makha from their respective houses this morning itself around 9 am and they were confirmed to an active members of the KCP, the release added.
The official release further mentioned that, another team of Imphal East district police commandos have also arrested on cadre of underground PLA identified as Leihouthbam Jouchandra Sharama alias Boy, 38, s/o of late M Manisana Sharma of of Khonghampat Mayai Leikai from Palace gate this afternoon around 1.30 pm and recovered on mobile phone from his possession.
The release further added that, the police during their spot verification, the arrested person revealed that, he joined that RPF in the month of July 2010 through one Chaoba of Langmeidong and he is now working under the command of S/S captain Sharat alias Kaka presently staying at at Guwahati and he was reportedly involved in extortion of money from general public, private firms, government officials etc, the release added.
A combined team of Imphal West police commandos and 18th Sikh Regiment arrested an active member of KCP(MTF) from Samurou at around 5 am today.
The cadre is identified as Longjam Budhi,51, s/o late Ebobi f Samurou Makha Leikai.
On verification , he disclosed on working in the finance section of the outfit for the last two years. He also disclosed that his son,Longjam Naotombi, 25,is a cadre of the outfit and resides in Nepal. Three grenades and two detonators were seized from his possession, a police statement said.
