IMPHAL July 26: Both National Highways have remained cut off since yesterday and the state has remained inaccessible by road.

The landslide at Maram along NH 39 disrupted both incoming and outgoing vehicular traffic. As of present more than 300 goods laden trucks are stranded at Mao as road repair is presently underway. Tourist buses have also ceased to ply due to the landslide.

Further, similar road woes along the NH 53 have paralyzed traffic along the highway. Deplorable road conditions have also restrained the truckers from going along the route.

The condition of these two national highways have become deplorable during monsoon and the state is likely to face shortage of essential commodities due to such adverse conditions.
