Japanese embassy to study state administration

IMPHAL, July 26:  A team of two delegates from the Embassy of Japan to India led by Naoki Ito, minister, embassy of Japan and Koju Mitsubory, first secretary, embassy of Japan has arrived in the state capital this afternoon from the national capital to study the existing state administrative structures and present conditions of the state which has been seriously affected by insurgency.

The visiting delegates after taking a short rest at Hotel Classic, North AOC soon after their arrival, conducted a meeting with Dr. N Vijoykrishna Brar, reader, Centre of Manipur Studies, Manipur University at 3pm at the university and later the two delegates attended a call on with the Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh at his official bungalow and collected information on the state administration systems at 4.30 pm.

According to an official source, the team will also meet with the state chief secretary DS Poonia at Old Secretariat, Imphal at 10.30 am which will be followed by another meeting with the state DGP at about 3.pm tomorrow, the source added.

The source also mentioned that, the visiting team will also visit various tourist spots of the state including the Japanese War Memorial Complex at Maibam Lokpa Ching, newly constructed Japanese funded hospital etc before they leave Imphal on July 28 afternoon, the source added.
