JD (U) opens new Kendra office

IMPHAL July, 29: Janata Dal (united) opened its new Kendra unit office for Mayang Imphal A/C at Bangoon Mayai Leikai, Imphal West-2 today. M Tombi state president of the party hoisted its party flag at its newly opened unit office.

The opening function was also attended by its state secretary general, Lein Gangte and some members of its party. In accordance with the opening of its office, a meeting was also held at the residence of Md. Salam Choudhury who is the president in charge of the Mayang Imphal JD (U) unit.

Addressing his speech in the function, Lien Gangte said that their party is confident that they would be able to share power in the state general election which is scheduled to hold in 2012. He added that the party is expecting to win at least five seats of the projected overall in the upcoming election. He stated that the party has now finalized to contest all the hill areas of the state.

Speaking at the function, its state president M Tombi Stated that it is apparent in our society that the poor people are becoming poorer and rich becoming richer day by day. He then added, this is because the representative in the government is only befriended with rich and affluent people. He stated that such unfair and partiality can only be removing by choosing the right candidate who would listen to the public.

Lein Gangte talking with IFP, said the objecting of the opening its unit office for Mayang Imphal area is to strengthen the party grass root politics. He stated that the newly opened unit office will help in empowering the minorities’ population of the areas. He added it will help alleviate the issue of disparity in PDS distribution, development works, education and economy. He stated that that the party has decided to choose one candidate for the Mayang Imphal A/C to contest the upcoming general assembly which is scheduled to happen in February 2012.
